Rumors have been swirling about a 'Supergirl' series coming to a network near you soon (as reported here.) Today we get confirmation that it will be on CBS next fall. CBS has committed to a season order which means they skipped right over the pilot stage.
Set to be an hour long drama the series will center on Kara Zor-El, who escaped Krypton before its destruction. Kara is Superman's cousin, who was older than Kal El before he escaped Krypton as well. She will have been hiding her powers for her whole life, but now at 24, she will become the hero she was born to become.
Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler will serve as executive producers and will write the script.
So what do you guys think? Are you excited for yet another comic book based TV series? Next fall five networks will have superhero-based shows on their line-ups. Is too much of a good thing, bad for us geeks?
