Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1st 2015 but filming has already started. A few photos have leaked to the web, among them the debut of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Feast your eyes and salivate...also do I see perhaps Ultron amongst the action? Its still very early but it looks like he'll be both CGI and practical effects much in the manner of Tony Stark in the Iron Man suit.
First there was a movie. It wasn’t great, but it was memorable. I saw the movie on VHS for the first time and thought…meh. It didn’t blow me away, but the reason it was memorable was because of the title. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was intriguing and different. I can’t say I remember the advertising for the film and it wasn’t something I was looking forward to seeing, but I loved the horror and vampire genre so I wanted to see it. It starred Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Luke Perry, Hilary Swank, David Arquette, Rutger Hauer and in an un-credited role even Ben Affleck. It didn’t do great and after it was made into a show we found out it wasn’t made with Joss Whedon’s vision in mind. That was the summer of 1992.
In the internet age, rumors are often reported as fact and more often than not we’re misled when it comes to news about our favorite films, and television shows. The emphasis has become about breaking a story, rather than reporting the facts. This leads to casting rumors being false, script plot lines being faked, and an overall over-exaggeration from the internet community. A lightening rod for these occurrences has been news about the Man of Steel sequel. I’m gonna run down the facts of the film and get your opinions on these facts and also ask how you feel about the speculating done by some of these movie sites.
Fox in all of their infinite wisdom (sarcasm font) has gone ahead and decided to reboot Fantastic Four. I’m actually okay with this, because the original two films were garbage…especially the second one. When the news broke of the reboot, I remained skeptical but believed that they may get it right this time. When I read that Josh Trank (Chronicle) would be directing, a lot of the skepticism left. And then there were the rumors of making Dr. Doom a woman…needless to say the skepticism returned. But now we have the Four in full cast (mostly) and I’m eager to see this film.
I'll make this brief, I've been waiting for a long time to see this trailer and I was not disappointed. This is a comic book team that very few people know about. In less than three minutes we're introduced to the whole team, and we get a glimpse into their personas. We didn't get to here Bradley Cooper's voice talent in his role of Rocket Raccoon, but its coming. It looks great and I can't wait to see this film in August. Marvel Films has another winner on their hands.
As we’ve just started this site, I thought it might be a good idea to give you guys some insight into how my Comic Book Geekdom all started. Once I’ve finished rambling coherently (I hope), the plan is for you all to share some of these things as well and we can begin our Atomic Geekdom Community. This place is designed for you all to give your opinions on everything we talk about.
The Dark Knight graced our televisions screens way back in the 1960’s with Adam West starring as our Caped Crusader. (And you’ll soon be able to own the collection on DVD.) Since then, he hasn’t been on television in a live action series. Due to Warner Brothers or DC Comics not wanting there to be any discrepancies in the story telling between the big screen and what may get produced on television, we’ve been deprived the glory of seeing The Bat on television. But should this really be a concern anymore?
Ok, first off, let me start this off by saying this... If you came here looking for something relating to punk rock bands like The Sex Pistols, The Clash, or The Ramones, you tuned into the wrong show. That said, if you're of a younger punk rock generation and you came looking for the likes of Green Day, The Offspring, or even Blink-182, sorry again. No, this is about punk of a different breed. The breed that was brought to you by the likes of Mr. Phillip Jack Brooks. Who you ask? Well, that would be the one and only CM Punk.
