Well...DC/Warner Bros started off Day 3 of SDCC with a bang. They brought out Zack Snyder and he debuted a teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, showing a rainy Gotham rooftop and Batman standing atop wearing a very Frank Miller-y armor suit. He pulls a tarp off of a Bat Signal that illuminates in the sky revealing a very angry Superman with red eyes. We also got a great glimpse at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and I have to say...my doubts have receded a bit. Take a look.
Yesterday we got news from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel at SDCC about some new cast members joining the show. Lucy Lawless (Xena, Battlestar Galactica, Spartacus) will be portraying long time agent Isabelle Hartley. Nick Blood will play a mercenary character named Lance Hunter. Reed Diamond (Dollhouse, 24, Much Ado About Nothing) is going to be the main villain of Season 2, Daniel Whitehall aka Kraken. And with this intro video before the panel started, Patton Oswalt hints at another character we may see.
Here it is kids, the trailer for season 3 that they played during the Arrow Panel at SDCC. Feast your eyes and then tell us what you're looking forward to in Season 3!
Ok, so with Comic-Con comes news, surprises, reveals, and just awesomeness. Yesterday we got a new photo of Ben Affleck as Batman. Its in color this time, but he still has that "lost my puppy" sad appearance.
Well its that time of year again, its Comic-Con time! Providing us with some daily highlights is our on the scene reporter, Jenny Robinson (you should of course follow her awesomeness @robiart!) She was amazing enough to volunteer to help us out as she navigates her way through her sixth SDCC! Throughout the day, everyday, I will update these posts to include all of her tweets, pics, and other various things she provides for us while she's having a great time with all you con-goers out there!
It was announced today that 'Prison Break' star Wentworth Miller had been cast as Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold for CW's 'The Flash.' He will appear in the third epsiode and I hope many more to follow. We already know Chad Rook was cast to play Weather Wizard in the pilot...or at least one of the Mardon brothers that can control the weather.
Daredevil has added yet another bombshell actress to its cast in 'True Blood's Deborah Ann Woll. The Hollywood Reporter says that she'll take on the role of Karen Page, Matt Murdock's love interest and secretary at the law firm of Nelson & Murdock.
Earlier this week Marvel announced that Thor would be changed into a female character with a new series this Fall. Marvel wasn't done. Last night it was announced that Steve Rogers would be passing on the shield, but not to the Winter Soldier. Taking over for Rogers as Captain America will be Sam Wilson aka The Falcon.
Entertainment Weekly has provided us with a first look at Avengers: Age of Ultron which hits theaters May 1st, 2015. The cover of EW gives us a good look at Ultron for the first time. In the article itself EW reports Tony Stark will be the one to build Ultron in an effort to save the world and give the Avengers some time off but as they always seem to do with best laid intentions, things go horribly wrong.
In anticipation for the newest entry into the 'Jurassic' legacy, some photos have surfaced on Twitter curtesy of @jurassicp2k15 that show us what this new park has in store for visitors. I am so hoping we get some scenes with some deep sea dino giants (like the Mosasaurus) that they hint at in a few of these photos.
In honor of upcoming Atomic Geekdom Podcast guest, 'Morning Glories' co-creator and artist, Joe Eisma, we're giving away a copy of 'Morning Glories' issue number 39. Did I mention that it's signed by Mr. Eisma himself? Well it is! And it can be yours very simply.
From a very early age, I was fascinated with the Robin character in the Batman universe. Not just with the comics, but with the '66 television series, the animated series, and continuing on into Teen Titans and Nightwing. He eventually would break away from Batman to be his own hero. He recognized that he would forever be in Bruce's shadow so he left Gotham and became a vision of hope for a new city that needed a savior.
Exciting news for Flash Fans and Robbie Amell fans alike. It has just been announced that actor Robbie Amell, who formerly starred in The CW's recently canceled series The Tomorrow People, has been cast as one half of the DC Comics Character Firestorm aka Ronnie Raymond!
Casting news has been coming fast and furiously this past week as we approach the fall television season. Last week we found out that Devon Aoki was cast to appear in Season 3 of CW's Arrow. She'll be portraying the intriguing and enigmatic character Tatsu Yamashiro aka Katana. All indications lead to her being in Oliver's flashback storyline.
The topic came up a few weeks ago on Twitter with a few people. Its an ongoing concern for ladies that are fans of comic books, and just women in general. The question is are women being exploited with their characterizations in comic books. Think for a moment about the women you see in the pages of your favorite books. How do they look? How are they dressed? How realistic do they appear? Should they appear realistic?
I can remember vividly, seeing the first Jurassic Park film twenty years ago. It was really the first time I saw a film that I had previously read the novel first. I loved Michael Crichton's book and it really got me to read more of his work which in turn, really got me interested in science fiction and in science. The film, however, captured my imagination in a way I wasn't expecting. The way it was shot, the special effects mixed with practical effects and the music made me believe this park could be real. The suspense, the pacing, the acting, the humor, the drama, all of it made for a great film that's stuck with me ever since.
In anticipation for the two part finale to The Hunger Games saga, we have been given this Panem propaganda video. It adds a little hint as to what's to come for one of our favorite Tributes.
