In what is to be the finale of the amazing Arkham series of games, we finally get to drive the Batmobile, we ALSO get to play as not just the Bat but also his friends, Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman.
It starts as an interest, then you're a fan, now you're a geek.
With the first and third seasons of both The Flash and Arrow, respectively, wrapping up, we should be getting more and more news about this spin-off series we'll be seeing during mid-season in 2016. Today the CW announced that Franz Drameh (Attack the Block and Edge of Tomorrow) has been cast as the character Jay Jackson.
With production set to begin on the sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, news is coming almost daily about casting and potential plot lines. We found out a few weeks ago that Casey Jones had been cast for the film, and that Bebop and Rocksteady would be in the film as well. Today we find out that Tyler Perry will bring a key character to life in Baxter Stockman. In the comics and animated series, Stockman is an African American scientist who is responsible for creating, among other things, the turtle-hunting Mousers.
Long ago, in a galaxy exactly like ours there were plans to make a Justice League film. The script was done. The cast had been assembled and we had our very first look at a live action John Stewart as Green Lantern in Common. Today we find out that Common has been cast in another DC property in a mysterious role. Common will join the film Suicide Squad as it begins production and I can only hope that he's not John Stewart but yet maybe Black Manta?
Very recently, we were lucky enough to have the writer and director, Mitch Cohen along with the two leads (Umberto Celisano & Giselle Gilbert) of the short film Super Zero on the podcast. Not only were they super fun to talk to, but they were extremely insightful when it came to talking about the making of their short film. The film itself is about a normal dude who finds out he has terminal brain cancer and then finds himself in the zombie apocalypse. Just a normal week.
A few weeks ago we reported that Stephen Amell had been cast as Casey Jones in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel. Now we learn that Paramount has finally confirmed that two fan favorite villains, Bebop and Rocksteady, will also appear in the film. The two were created for the animated 90's series, and were later added into the comic book as well. More recently they (SPOILER ALERT) were involved in a storyline in the comics in which they killed Donatello to prove their worth to Shredder. Now the question is...does this mean that Krang is on the way?
With the first season of Daredevil being an instant smash hit, it comes as no surprise that Netflix has approved a second season that will debut sometime in 2016. Marvel reports that not only will the show make its return next year, but it'll be getting new show runners with Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy) taking over for Steven S. DeKnight, who cannot stay with the show as he's got a scheduling conflict.
We found out recently that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would possibly be getting its only spin-off series, but we were left in the dark as to who it would star and on what the story could possibly be focused. Today The Hollywood Reporter has shed a little light as to who might at least be in the cast. Current AoS stars Adrianne Palicki (Bobbie Morse/Mockingbird) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter) are being reported as possibly the two leads.
I admit to be extremely skeptical about this film. I love all the actors involved, but I've heard nothing but bad things coming from the rumor mill, and while I know that I should ignore the internet when it comes to these things, I got wrapped up in the early negativity. After the first Fantastic Four trailer, I was admittedly impressed with the perceived storyline. Our family of heroes going to an alternate dimension instead of going into space to accidentally acquire their powers. It's not the traditional storyline, but its also not something foreign to this team. After seeing this new trailer, however, I'm all in and excited to see this reboot to the franchise.
I wasn't sure what to expect when Star Wars Rebels debuted last year. I had loved the Clone Wars series and was sad to see it go but I wasn't really looking for another prequel time animated series. I was hoping for something to bridge the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. But I was happily wrong in this case. I loved the first season and the finale left me wanting so much more. During the Star Wars Rebels panel at SWC, the cast and crewed revealed a trailer for season two!
Zack Snyder announced a few days ago that the trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would be released in select IMAX theaters on Monday. In less than 24 hours someone leaked some horrible quality footage of that trailer. Many sites reported on, giving details of what was in the trailer. I'm not sure if this is why Snyder would then release the trailer early...but who cares! Here it is in full HD quality!
Today was the first day of this year's Star Wars Celebration, and they kicked things off with a Force Awakens panel that featured J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill. They closed the panel with a brand new teaser! Check it out!
