So as you might already know, I'm a pretty big fan of science. Anything to do with biology, chemistry, or physics is something I find completely amazing. Everyday I find stuff that just seems impossible and truly awe inspiring, which is where this column comes in! Every Saturday I'm going to be posting an article about the coolest, craziest, and truly incredible discoveries in science this week, so that everyone can get a taste of what makes science so great! This could be ranging from health related discoveries, so us finding out that Saturn's moon TITAN can possibly hold life (true story). So stay tuned and get ready to have your mind blown away! 

The Binge Watch: Jericho - Season One

I watch a LOT of television. I often find myself picking up brand new shows when I’m already overloaded with other shows that I haven’t caught up on. As it stands right now, I have the entire last season of Falling Skies to get through before the new season begins. I only just NOW finished the second season of Hannibal, in anticipation for season three to begin. I’m way behind in Homeland, Penny Dreadful, Orphan Black, and a few others. Yet I find myself on Netflix searching for shows I’ve loved so that I can re-watch them. I just finished Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Scrubs, and I’m on the final season of Lost. So when I decided to do this bi-weekly Binge Watch column, I wanted to pick a show that I hadn’t seen in some time. Jericho fit this bill nicely. I had only watched it the one time, while it was airing on CBS in its original, ill-fated run. The show barely lasted two seasons. It was canceled after its full first season, but due to a heavy fan based campaign involving a lot of peanuts being shipped to the network, it was renewed, only to be canceled again after just seven episodes. The series ran a total of twenty-nine episodes and spawned a continuing comic book series much in the way that Buffy has lived on in the panels of the Dark Horse Comics.

For a gal with not a lot of spare time, I still manage to read a fair amount. I am known to always have a printed book, audiobook, comic book or magazine rolling at all times (usually more than just one). So I want to share with you the stuff I am currently absorbed in. Some will be new releases, other will be ones I am finally getting too. I hope you enjoy, and in turn hook me up with some fresh suggestions that I can tackle next week.

Sony & Marvel Have Found Their New Spider-Man!

After an extensive casting search filled with rumors almost daily about who might next play Peter Parker in the upcoming Sony/Marvel film, we finally have news! Marvel announced that Tom Holland (The Impossible, Wolf Hall, In the Heart of the Sea) will play Spidey in the next film due to be released on July 28th, 2017. He should also make his cinematic debut in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War film due to be released on May 6th, 2016.

When the prospect of a weekly column came about, I sat in silence as the others discussed the endless possibilities of what their columns could be. Brilliant people working together to find topics of discussion that best suited their individual interests, as well as the interests of the masses. As the topic carried on, I sat and thought about my career. Weird, right? The opportunity laid out in front of me to brainstorm great ideas for this site, with talented people, and I’m foolishly pondering my work. It was almost instinctual for me to associate what I do with what I love, and a column was the perfect outlet to express exactly what that means. I guess it’s funny that my mind chose to make that connection, because that’s what prompted me to take to my laptop and paint a verbal picture for you all. I help manage an independently owned video game retailer, and therein lies my column.

Rupert Wyatt To Direct Gambit Film

The upcoming 20th Century Fox film Gambit, starring Channing Tatum as the fan favorite X-Man Remy LeBeau has found it's director. Among the names up for the job were Bennett Miller (Capote, Moneyball, Foxcatcher) and Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, The Fighter, Black Swan), but the job goes to Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler).
