The Great Divide
Too many people let a simple thing like Company Brand dictate what they enjoy. As I sit here and write this, there’s two Marvel films in theaters. Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man are in a theater somewhere in this country. ANT-MAN has been made into a movie. Never in my wildest youth imagination would I have predicted that there would be a film based on the comic book character Ant-Man. Yes, I’m astonished, and I’m elated! I was NEVER a fan of Ant-Man in the comics. Hell, I was never a fan of Iron Man or Captain America either, and yet I’ve enjoyed both of their films and now have a greater enjoyment for their characters in the books. But I grew up loving X-Men…and Batman! Gasp! ‘He’s with that other company, not with the wonderful Marvel, how dare you sir!’ I know, it’s crazy. I love both companies' characters and stories. And my question I pose today…why don’t you?
The Binge Watch: Jericho - Season Two
I watch a LOT of television. So much so, that even though there are hundreds of channels with dozens upon dozens of quality shows out there, I still find time to go back and binge watch some of my old favorites. Enter my Binge Watch column. Every two weeks I'll present to you my review of a new show, or new season of a show. I'll try to pick shows I haven't watched yet, or obscure shows you may not have seen yet. Sit back and binge some TV with me!
THE X-FILES Teaser
Review: Ant-Man
You've seen one Marvel film, you've seen them all...right? I've heard a LOT of negativity going into the production of Ant-Man. Fans of Edgar Wright will likely hate everything about the movie going in because he left the production and they're die hard Edgar Wright fans. Casual fans of the Marvel universe might not care about a movie called Ant-Man. Really? He has the powers of ants? He can control ants? He's the size of the ant? Yet, we're all amped up at the prospect of a movie called Spider-Man. Whether you are interested in this film or not, one thing you can say is that Marvel doesn't fail often with their films. I was heavily interested in this film, mostly due to Paul Rudd's involvement. I'm a big fan of Paul Rudd, since his Clueless days, so I was feeling pretty good about the entertainment value of this film, so let's dig in!
First Look Photos From X-Men: Apocalypse
As the dust settles from the amazing showing that FOX/Marvel Studios had at this year's SDCC, we're getting more and more information from our favorite shows and upcoming films. One of those films being Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse which had a huge panel of actors at Comic Con. Today we were given a bevy of photos (curtesy of EW.com) that showcase the new additions to the X-Men cast including, Apocalypse, Psylocke, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Jean Grey.
The Geekly Book Review - Vol 4: Outcast
For a gal with not a lot of spare time, I still manage to read a fair amount. I am known to always have a printed book, audiobook, comic book or magazine rolling at all times (usually more than just one). So I want to share with you the stuff I am currently absorbed in. Some will be new releases, other will be ones I am finally getting too. I hope you enjoy, and in turn hook me up with some fresh suggestions that I can tackle next week.

Supergirl Casting News From SDCC!
The night would continue in the DC TV Universe as the Supergirl panel would take the stage in Hall H. The crowd got to see a screening of the pilot (which leaked online a few weeks ago). We also discovered that a prominent DC villain would be joining the cast. Maxwell Lord has been a villain and a hero at times, but on Supergirl he's described as a green tech billionaire who enjoys a friendly rivalry with Cat Grant and a fascination with National City's newest arrival, Supergirl. Portraying Lord is Peter Facinelli (The Twilight Saga, Fastlane, Can't Hardly Wait).
The Arrow Gets A New Look...And Name?
In the closing minutes of Season Three of Arrow, we saw Oliver and Felicity leaving Starling City. Oliver had given up the mantle of The Arrow and was leaving to be with Felicity. When Season Four starts, it looks like he'll be coming back with a fresh look. Stephen Amell took to Facebook and Twitter to reveal the new look minutes before the panel started at SDCC, he also tagged it "GreenArrow."
The Flash Season Two Casting News!
In the closing hours of Day Three of SDCC, Warner Bros and DC Entertainment took over Hall H. We were promised panels from the staff and cast of The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Gotham. Not much was expected in the way of new footage as Arrow is about to begin production on Season 4 (Stephen Amell just wrapped his role as Casey Jones in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel) and The Flash is only a week into production on Season 2. But we did get some exciting news about casting! We learned that Patty Spivot will join the show played by Shantel VanSanten and after being teased in the finale of The Flash, Jay Garrick debuts played by Teddy Sears!
