This month celebrates one of my favorite holidays...Halloween! I have always loved this time of year. Not just the fall weather (if you live in an area to actually have a fall season) and not just because football is in full swing, but because I love everything about Halloween. Decorations on houses, horror movies all over cable television and being released into theaters, cute kids dressed up as superheroes and cartoon characters, what's not to love? So in the spirit of the season, we've chosen to do an all month long theme of Halloween for the podcast and the site.
Starting on October 22nd we're going to reveal our Top Ten Horror Film list, one film at a time. One of the staff will review the film and talk about why its one of our favorites. The hard part about this list was choosing the best. There's so many great horror films, and there's so many just awful ones, and the awful ones can sometimes be just as fun as the great ones. Our Top Ten list could've been extremely different just based on the day and the mood of our staff choosing the films. So many great films, only Ten slots to fill. So here's the list of movies that just didn't make the cut (in no particular order):
Halloween (1978)
The Exorcist
Scream
Night of the Living Dead
The Strangers
Friday the 13th (1980)
Hellraiser
[REC]
Freaks
Near Dark
Carrie
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
The Conjuring
The Descent
The Howling
The Ring
Paranormal Activity
The Blair Witch Project
Audition
Battle Royale
Fright Night (2011)
Se7en
The Silence of the Lambs
Trick 'r Treat
Stake Land
An American Werewolf in London
V/H/S
Evil Dead II
The Loved Ones
Let the Right One In
The Sixth Sense
So these are the films that just didn't make the cut for our Top Ten list. Stay tuned on October 22nd to see what did make the list. Are any of these films in your Top Ten?
