Constantine Upgraded to Legend

By: Dave Clark

Since Constantine was canceled in 2015 by NBC, fans have been campaigning for the master magician to return in some form. He's been spotted on Arrow, more recently on Legends of Tomorrow, and will have his own animated mini-run on CW's online service CW Seed. His own series ran for 13 episodes and never really performed well with the ratings, having been relegated to the death slot of Friday nights. Today, fans were given a gift when it was announced that Matt Ryan will return to the trench coat as John Constantine on the fourth season of Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular.

Legends show-runner Phil Klemmer spoke about the character joining the show for a guest spot back in October,

We knew that an alienated, chain-smoking, bisexual, world-weary demonologist would feel right at home among our Legends.

The CW has yet to officially renew the show for a fourth season, but it seems all but likely that the wackiest of CW/DC shows will return to our television screens next fall. While the cast has lost a few members this season, it has begun replenishing the crew with Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) having left Team Flash as a regular cast member and joined the time traveling band of misfits.

What do you guys think of this news? Are you excited that Constantine is alive and well within the Arrowverse? How are you feeling about this current season of Legends and the direction they're headed for the future? Let us know if the comments below!
