DC fans rejoice, today is the day of the Bat! Zack Snyder ominously posted the back two wheels of the Batmobile yesterday on Twitter , and today has followed up with our first look at Ben Affleck as Batman! We couldn't be more excited about this big reveal , and hope more new photos will soon follow. Sound off and let us know what you think of the new Batsuit and Batmobile!
Big day today for comic book and movie fans alike. Current X-Men film producer Lauren Shuler released official confirmation today that Channing Tatum will be playing Remy LeBeau a.k.a Gambit in future X-Men movies. There had been rumors that this was happening for quite some time but today it has finally become official. Gambit had previously been portrayed by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. What are your thoughts towards Tatum playing the highly popular X-Men character we all know and love? Sound off and let us know what you think!
DC fans have a lot to look forward to this fall. Not only is Arrow returning to the CW for its third season, but The Flash is joining the CW line-up. Over on FOX, the world of Gotham will hit the small screen. And not to be outdone in the battle of network geeks, NBC has Constantine, primed and ready for the airwaves.
Fox wasted no time in announcing that it was picking up the series 'Gotham' guaranteeing at least thirteen episodes. While I'm fairly confident they'll make it a full season, this is Fox we're talking about here. The series will serve as an origin story for Gotham City itself, along with several well known Batfamily characters. We'll see newly orphaned Bruce Wayne dealing with the loss of his parents. And if the teaser trailer is any indication, we'll see quite a few villainous faces as well. We're looking forward to this series, while praying that Fox does not screw this up as they have so many times before. What do you guys think? Excited for this new show? Ready for a side of the Bat we haven't seen on television or in the movies?
"With great powers, comes great responsibility." Every self-respecting Spider-Man fan knows this quote. It was forced down our throats in the late 90's Animated Spider-Man series. Uncle Ben left this message for Peter Parker before he died and it was echoed throughout his career as the web-head. We get a taste of this mentality in this sequel to Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider=Man.
After months of months speculating and running the rumor mill wild on the internets, starwars.com has finally announced the cast for Star Wars: Episode VII:
**Update** Contest has ENDED! Congrats to our winner and stay tuned for more giveaways!
In the spirit of Superhero Sundays, we will be giving away a digital issue of DC Comics New 52 The Flash Issue #1! We're super excited about the upcoming Flash TV Series starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, and wanted to give fans the opportunity to somewhat familiarize themselves with Barry from the comics before the TV Show begins airing.
So, we've seen the X-Men and the Avengers on the big screen. We have every notion that we'll eventually see a Justice League in a feature film. Movie executives and Studios and directors get to choose which mutants and which members of our favorite teams we get to see but now Atomic Geekdom is letting you write the script. We want to know who you would choose to be in a future X-Men, Avengers, and Justice League film. We'll tell you our choices, go in depth on those choices on our next podcast (April 29th release, recording on Friday, April 25th) and we'll also read your choices as well.
I've been a big fan of the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) since day one. The Batman: Animated Series was the best after school cartoon I can remember (Aside from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and X-Men: The Animated Series). DC jumped into another stratosphere when they started making their direct-to-video/DVD animated films. My favorite of the films is probably Batman: Under the Red Hood, but its really tough to choose as almost all of them have been so great. Their latest release, Son of Batman, is an adaptation of Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert's 2006 Batman and Son storyline. A loose adaptation at that, the film veers a bit from the source material.
The summer season is upon us and that means that a new slate of shows will be premiering soon. One of which is the returning post-alien invasion Falling Skies. It took me some time to get into this show but I'm glad I did. Last season was, in my humble opinion, the best season of the show and I like how season 4 seems to be shaping up. I enjoy the show's attention to historic detail. Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) was a history professor which gives him a great deal of knowledge when it comes to historical battle planning.
Last week on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., still reeling from the aftermath of HYDRA's infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D., we find Coulson's agents being sheltered by Agent Eric Koenig (expertly portrayed by Patton Oswalt.) While they get organized, Agent Garrett (equally as exceptionally played by Bill Paxton) was freeing a whole mess of bad guys from "The Fridge." One of those bad guys was Marcus Daniels, otherwise known to Marvel fans as Blackout.
Much like Bruce Timm's animated short, Darwyn Cooke has gotten in on the fun with his Batman Beyond short celebrating Batman's 75th Anniversary. Kevin Conroy reprises his historic run as Bruce Wayne while Will Friedle returns to voice Terry McGuiness. The cartoon series, Batman Beyond, ran from 1999-2001 and even made an appearance in the Justice League animated series.
Ok, so here's the 1,000th...and final, X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer to be released before the actual film does. It feels like there's been a new one almost every week for the past seven years. Could be that I've been paying extremely close attention to this film, or it could be that Fox's Marketing Department has lost their minds. Either way, it looks great (Quicksilver's silly outfit aside) and this trailer makes me really excited to see this film. I do have a fear that Bryan Singer has loaded up too many mutants for this film and there won't be enough screen time to see my favorites (GAMBIT! WHERE IS GAMBIT?!) but I'll keep the faith until I actually see the film.
It was previously announced by DC that both Suicide Squad and Teen Titans current incarnations would end with this month's issue 30 for both. But it sounds as though they won't be gone for long. According to DC both will return this summer with brand new #1's and will feature a roster change for both teams.

Marvel Studios knows what they're doing. When they started with Iron Man, they knew they were taking a risk but they had faith in the franchise. They also had faith in a plan that would create an ever expanding universe. A universe that saw Steve Rogers become Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger. That film was more of a war period piece, taking place during World War 2. As we all know, Rogers would be kept on ice, and finally found and awoken in present day New York. He'd join up with the Avengers with the help of S.H.I.E.L.D., who he would learn to not trust. Which brings us to Winter Soldier.
Just days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and less than 24 hours after making the below appearance on Monday Night RAW, The Ultimate Warrior passed away Tuesday, April 8th. His speech on RAW has a deeper more eerie feeling after his passing.
Over the years and many, many issues of Batman comic books, there have been quite a few young men (and even women) to call themselves Robin. Some are well known to the general Batman loving public, while others are unknown to the casual fan. When asking a friend if she knew who the second Robin was, she stated “there’s more than one?” And that’s coming from someone who’s fairly geeky in her own right. So today I thought I’d go through the roster of people who have fought beside Batman as Robin and talk about how they got to be in that position.
